Solution for Roadmaster Falcon 2 Tow Bar with Difficult to Retract Arms
Question:
Hi I have a falcon 2 tow arm package that has worked very well for about 8 years and now one arm the right arm will not retract very easy when the release lever is actuated and in fact it is very hard to get retracted. Once retracted it is also very hard to get extended to hook up to car. the other side works very well. Before it was so hard to retract it was difficult to get it to lock in the extended position. Not sure what kit to use to repair it. there is no release button like other questions seemed to have just the release levers.

Have you tried cleaning and lubing the arms yet? Here's how to do that in case not:
I contacted Roadmaster about instructions on cleaning their tow bars. Our contact at Roadmaster informed me that you will want to start by soaking the arms with a degreaser. Then, you will want to move the arms in and out and rinse off with water. After rinsing the arms, you will want to dry the arms thoroughly and finally spray a dry silicone spray on the arms. Do NOT to use WD-40.
If instead you need to replace the entire arm you would want the part # 910021-80.
For repair kits you have a couple options.
If it looks like the one in the color picture you have a newer model.
If you have an older model you would want the # RM910003-52 as a repair kit.
If you have a newer model you would want the # RM910003-85.
