B&W Companion Slider 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch Will Not Slide Back

Question:

I installed and torqued my slide for the first time. After torquing it wont slide. I move the locking lever to the rear, Chalk my trailer tires, apply the trailer brakes and drive forward. I will not move. What am i missing?

I spoke with my contact over at B&W about the problem you are having with the Companion Slider hitch # BWRVK3400-5W. I was told that in some applications the torque spec for that draw-down bolt is too high. The fix is to back it off to 65 foot pounds.

If you still have problems after torqueing the bolt to 65 foot pounds let me know.
