Choosing a hub to fit your 3500-lb Dexter axle and your 8-inch wheels requires matching up a few things to ensure compatibility. To make sure a hub will fit your axle's spindles you'll need to note the bearings used in your current hubs, both the inner and outer bearings. A new hub needs to use the same bearings. To ensure your 8-inch wheels will fit the new hub you'll need to match up the bolt pattern of the wheel and hub. The linked article will help.

Once you know your bearing set and bolt pattern you can use the linked page to view all hubs. Click on the hub type you need (idler hub without brakes, hub/drum for drum brakes, etc). Then select your wheel bolt pattern, inner and outer bearings and wheel size. Note that the hubs we offer that fit 8-inch wheels match an axle capacity of either 2000-lbs, 2200-lbs or 2500-lbs. For example, if your hubs uses bearings # L44643 and have a 5-on-4-1/2-inch bolt pattern you could use idler hub # T4084600042.
