Towing Trailer with 4-Way and Amber Turn Signals with a 2003 Chevy Silverado with 7-Way
Question:
WHAT HOPKINS FLAT ADAPTER SHOULD I USE? AMBER TURN SIGNALS WITH 4 FLAT TRAILER HARNESS
asked by: DON
Expert Reply:
If the trailer has a 4-Way flat connector then you can use any 7-Way to 4-Way adapter such as # 47345. But if the trailer has amber turn signals that are on a separate circuit from the brake lights then those turn signals will not light up unless the trailer has a special converter on it, # 118158.
the converter takes the combined turn signal and brake lights and separates them out so you have one (yellow) wire for left turn signal only, one (green) wire for right turn signal only, and one wire (red) for all of the brake lights.
