Transmission Cooler Recommendation for a 2002 Chevy Silverado  

Question:

2002 Silverado HD 2500 6litre gas. towing 8000 lb Travel trailer. Tranny gets hot at times would like to cool as much as possible. Live in CA high desert. Looking for good cooler. I believe there is an oem aux cooler in place now.

The best way to select a supplemental cooler is to go with the largest one available that is confirmed to fit the available space in front of your radiator. The part # D13503 is a very popular option that would work well.

It measures 11" Wide x 8-3/4" tall x 7/8" deep. I attached an install video for this cooler for you to check out as well.

This will install downstream of your factory cooler that is installed in your truck radiator. You wll also want the fitting part # D13035 to make install easier.
