Semi-Custom 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch Installation Kit for a 2005 Dodge Ram 1500
Question:
Is part numer RP30035 going to work for my 2005 dodge ram 1500 pickup? I looked at my frame and it looks like it is a tubular design. Will I need to drill through both sides of the frame in order to make it work?

The Reese universal 5th wheel installation kit # RP30035 by itself is not a fit for your 2005 Dodge Ram 1500. You will need a semi-custom kit # RP30035-023.
You will NOT drill through both walls of the frame to perform the installation on your truck. You only drill through the side the brackets attach to. The nuts for the bolts will get fishwired into place. I have included some links to the installation instructions with more details.
