Brake Controller and 7-Way Recommendation for a 2009 Toyota Highlander
Question:
I have an 2009 Toyota highlander Sport. I installed the plug and play module under the dash, then hooked up the four poll other half of the unit at the left rear. It worked great. Then my son showed up with new trailer to tow our Harleys with electric brakes with a seven pool plug. What electric brake unit can I buy that is plug and play and compatible with my Toyota? My Uhaul guy says an additional harness must be hard wired for additional 300 bucks. My owners handbook says my Toyota was manufactured with a tow package. So, I can only assume it already has this harness, correct?

To convert the 4-pole of your 2009 Toyota Highlander to a 7-way so that you can install a brake controller and activate the brakes of your trailer you would need the part # ETBC7.
I attached installation instructions and an install video for this product as well.
For a brake controller I would recommend the Prodigy P2 Brake Controller part # 90885. This is our best selling brake controller because of how well it works and how easy it is to setup.
There is no plug and play option for installing a brake controller in your vehicle.
