Installing the Derale Transmission Cooler, # D13504, On A 2005 Ford Expedition

Question:

I would like to install the Derale D13504 along with the existing trans cooler if I can. If I can not I will replace it. What fittings do I need? I am installing a upgraded trans cooler but my SUV has an existing oil cooler. Should I upgrade it too for towing? I know that my trans may get too hot towing uphill as determined by a trans temp gauge. But I do not know about oil temp or if that is as big a concern.

The Derale Transmission Cooler, # D13504, will fit your 2005 Ford Expedition. It will connect in-line into the existing lines on your factory transmission cooler. If you have an aftermarket transmission cooler on your vehicle now, then you will have to remove it to install this transmission cooler.

The transmission cooler will be mounted between your vehicles grill and the A/C condenser. It will be connected inline to the return line coming out of the factory transmission cooler in the radiator.

The Derale Transmission Cooler comes with all the fittings and hardware you will need to install on your vehicle.

An oil cooler is not really necessary on your vehicle for towing purposes. An oil cooler is used more for high speed performance applications where the oil will be raised to very high temperatures in a short amount of time.

I am sending a link to information on transmission coolers.
