When adding a transmission cooler like the Derale Series 8000 Plate-Fin Kit, # D13503, to your 2008 Toyota 4Runner, the amount of fluid that you will lose is going to depend on the location of your return line. If the return line is located where gravity would force the fluid out, I recommend plugging the hole with a rag once you pull the line and have a bucket or pan to catch any excess.

Even if you do not lose any fluid during installation, you will be increasing the capacity of the system so additional transmission fluid will be needed. The amount will vary but typically about a 1/2 pint to a quart will be needed.
