Trailer Hitch that Mounts to the Frame of a 5th Wheel Trailer
Question:
You stated in a previous QA that a multi-fit motorhome hitch would work on this gentlemens 5th wheel. We are looking for a frame mount trailer hitch receiver for our 2008 5th Wheel Cedar Creek Silverback knowing some states do not allow. Question is which would work best for us and dose a motorhome hitches work on 5th wheels also. Thank you.

You can put an RV trailer hitch on a 5th wheel trailer. For a frame mounted hitch the most versatile is the Curt hitch # 13703. This hitch fits frame frames from 22 to 72 inches wide (frame width is measured from the outside of one frame rail to the outside of the other frame rail). It can be used on box frames, I-Beam frames, and C-Channel frames. And it can be bolted or welded on. Welding should be performed by a professional welder.
