trunk mount bike rack 2015 Kia Sportage comparing Thule Passage 910XT to Thule OutWay # Th45JV Is there that much difference or is the OutWay worth the price difference?

There are four upgrades you'll find on the Thule # TH45JV Outway that you won't find on the # TH910XT Passage.
The OutWay provides an upgraded cradling system that are padded a bit heavier for better protection for your bike. The OutWay also includes an integrated cable lock and a for both the bikes and the rack to deter theft. Next, it attaches to the vehicle with retractable straps so you do not have extra strap flying around. And finally, The OutWay uses only 2 straps instead of 4 which makes it the easiest and fasted rack to install and remove.
These features explain the price differential, but it'll be up to you to decide if the extra features offered by the OutWay justify it's higher price.
If you'll be transporting women's bikes or bikes with sharply-angled top tubes, you might also consider a frame adapter bar like part # 64005. The bar spans the distance between the handlebar gooseneck and the seat post, which provides a secondary attachment point for the bike rack. This allows the bike to be carried level, which maximizes ground clearance. I'll link you to a video showing how the adapter bar works.
