Trailer Wiring Recommendation for a 2005 Pontiac Grand Am
Question:
Hello, I need some help wiring a flat 4 connector trailer to my vehicle. I found the brake, left/right and side marker wires inside my vehicles trunk. The issue I am having is how to connect these wires to the flat 4 trailer wiring. When I look at your trailer wiring I see that the green/ yellow wires power the right/left stop and turn lamps respectively. On the vehicle there is a separate wire for the brake lamp and separate wires for the right and left turn lamps. Which is what I would expect, however according to your trailer wiring diagram both the brake and turn signal lamps are controlled by only one wire. They should be wired independently so that the brake lamp would come on when your press the brake pedal and either the right or left turn lamp should come on when you execute a turn. Can you help me with this? Thanks.

We have exactly what you need for your 2005 Pontiac Grand Am. For trailer wiring you would want the part # 119178KIT.
This harness is designed to take separate taillight signals like what you have on your vehicle and convert them to combined so that it will work with the standard style of trailer wiring.
