Can Trunk of 2008 Nissan Sentra Be Accessed w/ Hollywood Racks # HRG2 Gordo Bike Rack Installed

Question:

Can you open and use the trunk without the bike on the rack and do you sell the lock mentioned? My vehicle is a 2008 Nissan Sentra Sedan-no spoiler. Thank you!

I usually don't recommend opening a rear hatch with a trunk mount bike rack attached. The rack adds additional weight to the hatch lid that it's opening/lifting mechanism might not be rated for. This could cause the hatch lid to close unexpectedly, causing injury.

The trunk lid on your Sentra isn't very heavy, nor is the rack. If you're careful about keeping an eye on the lid while you're accessing the trunk, you should be just fine.

I'm not entirely sure which lock you're speaking of. We recommend using a security strap like # TH533 to secure the rack to the vehicle and a cable lock like # e98891 to lock the bikes to the rack.
