Curt Drop Weight Distribution Shank Recommendation for a Reese Strait-Line System

Question:

I purchased the Reese straight line trunnion system to use with a supertork hitch extension. The Reese shank I received does not give me the drop I need to get the full benefit of the load leveling system. Will the Curt shank # 17120 fit the supertork extension on the one end and the Reese system on the other?

Expert Reply:

The Curt weight distribution shanks like the part # 17120 will fit the same systems that a Reese shank would, so the # 17120 would be compatible. It would provide drop of 5-3/4 inches when used with a trunnion setup like your Straitline. If that is enough drop this would work well. If you need more drop you could use the # C17123 which can do up to 8-1/4 inches.
