How To Turn Off Warning Lamp Once Intregrated Trailer Brake Controller is Disconnected on 2011 Ram

Question:

My husband is at a Dodge dealer and they have no idea how to disconnect the ITBM so that the EVIC does not give a warning lamp. Can you give us any help with this problem.

In order to turn the warning lamp off on your 2011 Ram once the ITBM (Integrated Trailer Brake Module) is disconnected, your local Dodge dealer will have to reconfigure the TIPM (Totally Integrated Power Module), of the truck. The XHC sales code will need to be removed. Once the code has been removed, the TIPM will no longer look for the controller so no warning lamp.

I am attaching a technical bulletin from Tekonsha that includes this information. I recommend making a copy of this for your dealer.
