Troubleshooting Intermittent Trailer Light Function on a Cargo Carrier for License Plate Light
Question:
Hi a few years back I purchased a license plate light through you guys. I have been trying to run it on a cargo carrier but most of the time it does not run. I believe it is wired correctly to the power and think it may be the ground. Are there any thoughts on what i could do? right now it is ground to the cargo carrier. I read somewhere that the pain may be a little to thick and I should grind down to make better contact.... I guess it would be helpful to tell you that when the lights are hooked up and the truck is on it is off but by the end of a drive the light is on. .. Thanks so much!

The problem is definitely the ground of the lights. You can try getting the ground to touch bare metal by removing any paint of powder coating. Or you can run a wire back to the trailer wiring ground circuit.
