Recommended Parts for Installing 7-Way Connector and Trailer Brake Controller in 2003 Ford F-150
Question:
I have a 2003 Ford F 150 V6 with factory 4 wire harness for towing. I am planning on buying a travel trailer and am trying to figure out what I need to change to a 7 wire with braking. Any help would be appreciated. thanks

To convert your 2003 F-150's 4-pole trailer connector to a 7-way that includes circuits for 12V trailer power and trailer brakes you will use part # 118242 which includes the 7-way socket, wiring harness, fuses and relays. Then for installing a brake controller like the excellent Prodigy P2 # 90885 you will use a quick-connect wiring adapter # 3035-P. This wiring adapter simply plugs in between the P2 and the port under your dash.
The linked video shows you the process in a 2004 model year truck.
