Is Transmission Adjustment Required for 2010 Honda Fit to Tow a Trailer

Question:

Is there any transmission adjustments that need to be made or is it fine how it is? I know someone who had to have there transmission adjusted for a dealer installed hitch to be able to tow anything.

The Curt Trailer Hitch # C011064 is a confirmed fit for all versions of the Honda Fit for model years 2009 through 2013.

The 2010 Honda Fit is NOT recommended by Honda for any type of trailer towing application (see page 238 of the online owner's manual) so no transmission adjustments will be needed. Hitches made for your Fit are designed to allow use of hitch-mount accessory items such as 2-bike hitch rack like # S64670 from Swagman or a hitch-mount Class I cargo carrier like # C18110 from Curt, but NOT for towing a trailer.

Some vehicles if being flat-towed by a motorhome may require a transmission lube pump to let them be towed in this way without damage to the transmission.
