How to Remove Existing Damaged 7-Way on 2002 GMC Sierra and Install Replacement Part # PK11916
Question:
I have an 02 gmc 1500 and my oem trailer socket was damaged. I need to replace it. How do I disconnect to replace it?

It is a bit easier to detach the socket from the 7-way if you remove the assembly from the bracket first. Twist the assembly to the right, and pull toward you. Once the 7-way is free of the bracket, you will see a clip on the top of the connector. Simply depress the clip, and pull the damaged socket apart from the connector. Push the replacement onto the connector until the clip clicks into place, and replace into the bracket.
