Should Factory Trailer Hitch Be Removed From 2008 Dodge Ram 2500 to Install Curt Trailer Hitch
Question:
I have a 2008 Dodge 2500HD. I am mounting a Cort Class V hitch - C15409 . My question is, should I remove my factory OEM hitch or install the Cort underneath it, as designed? My only reason to leave the OEM in place is to reduce the amount of work required to install the new hitch.

You probably can't remove the factory hitch on your 2008 Dodge Ram 2500. They are usually welded on as part of the bumper structure. It would not be in the way since the Curt hitch # C15409 attaches to the frame around the factory hitch and the new hitch will be below the OEM hitch so it would not make it any easier to install the Curt hitch.
