What Length Bolts Should be Used to Mount a Fender to a Trailer

Question:

I have on order....CE 17701ATB and CE26061G. It was suggested to use 3/8 inch but what length would suggest. Thank you in advance.

The length of the hardware used to secure a fender using brackets such as # CE26061G-2 is going to depend on how thick the trailer frame is where the brackets and fender will be installed. You could bolt all the way through the frame which would mean the hardware would have to be longer than the frame is wide.

But if you didn't want to bolt it through the frame then the threaded part of the hardware would have to be shorter than the frame is wide. I would go with self-tapping hardware that is shorter than the frame is wide to avoid any potential clearance issues that could arise if you bolted hardware all the way through.
