Solution for Pairing a Tekonsha RF Brake Controller to Vehicle with Bulb Out Sensors
Question:
My question is around the Tekonsha RF Brake Controler. I have a 2006 Range Rover. It, along with other European vehicles throw the bulb out display when towing a trailer with LED lights. I bought the 7-Way to 7-Way LED Trailer Light Adapter for Audi, Porsche and Volkswagen that you sell to overcome this to trick the vehicle with the resistor in the 7 way to 7 way and it works great. I want to buy the Tekonsha RF brake controller and I see that folks with the European vehicles are having trouble pairing due to the bulb out reading on the vehicles. The work around that you recommend is to pair with a domestic vehicle and it works. My question is, if you use the 7-Way to 7-Way LED Trailer Light Adapter for Audi, Porsche and Volkswagen, will it allow to the Tekonsha to pair without having to use a domestic vehicle? Thanks

The LED lights on the vehicle isnt so much the issue. Some European vehicles send signals through the trailer plug for Lamp out or Trailer detection that can interfere with the pairing process, but once the trailer is detected these signals pose no issue.
Since you already have the # C57003 you might try to see if that helps the issue, but if not the easiest solution will be to find a domestic vehicle with a 7-way to pair.
I attached an install video for you to check out as well.
