Flat Towing Components Needed for a 2003 Volkswagen Jetta Sedan TDI
Question:
Greetings, I have a Roadmaster Falcon All Terrain Hitch on the back of my recently purchased motorhome. I want to adapt the front end my 2003 VW Diesel Jetta Sedan so I can tow it with this hitch. I need some type of parts kit to set up the front of my car. Do you sell this kit? What does it have in it? Will I need to have it welded on or can I bolt it on? How much will it cost? Thanks for any help or suggestions –

We have exactly what you would need. All you need is the Roadmaster base plate kit part # 521228-1 to connect your Roadmaster Falcon Tow bar part # RM-522 to your 2003 Volkswagen Jetta sedan TDI.
You will also need a few other components to complete your flat towing setup. For safety cables you can use # RM-643. The coiled design helps keep the cables off of the ground.
For lighting you can use the bulb and socket kit, # RM-155, and not have to worry about cutting and splicing into the vehicle wiring.
And finally, most states now require supplemental braking in the vehicle being flat towed. The easiest system to set up and use is the Blue Ox Patriot # BLU37TR, that applies the vehicle brakes in proportion to how much the tow vehicle is braking. This is the safest way to stop and it reduces wear and tear on both vehicles.
