Parts Needed to Install Brake Controller On 2008 Hyundai Veracruz
Question:
I have a 2008 Hyundai Veracruz and I am interested in this part. My veracruz is NOT prewired for a brake controller so I have no problem connecting everything up except the trailer receptacle side. What I mean is - is there a kit for the vehicle side?

To install the Hayes Trailer Brake Controller # HA817922BB, you will want to use the Hayes Universal Wiring Adapter # HA81789-HBC. This pigtail will splice into your vehicle. The white wire needs to be grounded. The black wire will connect to the battery. The red wire goes to the stoplight wire. The blue wire is connected to the trailer connector at the rear of the vehicle.
You will also need a wiring harness for your vehicle if you don't already have one. I recommend the T-Connector Vehicle Wiring Harness # C56332. This wiring harness will plug into your vehicle's existing factory wiring harness. I have attached the installation details for you.
In order for your brake controller to work, you will need our Universal Installation Kit # ETBC7. This kit provides you with a 4- and 7-way trailer connector, the wire needed to connect the trailer connector to the brake controller, and all hardware needed for installation. I have attached a help article on how to install the ETBC7 kit. I have also attached an installation video of the kit on a 2012 Hyundai Santa Fe for you.
I have also attached a help article on installing brake controllers when starting from scratch.
