Recommended Axle-Less System And Idler Hubs For Custom Trailer
Question:
We are building a custom off-road trailer for a sensor deployment operation. We are looking at using a few of your products and want to make sure they will fit together. For axles we would like to use. ASR2KHDS01 This Hub AKIHUB-545-35-G-EZ-K Do you see any reason why these wouldnt work together? Specifically the hub and the axles? Thank you for your assistance,

The idler hub assembly you mentioned, part # AKIHUB-545-35-G-EZ-K would work well with the axles you referenced. This hub has a 5 on 4-1/2 wheel bolt pattern and has a weight capacity of 1,750 lbs. This hub includes the bearings, races, seal, grease cap, wheel bolts and lug nuts.
Since you are building a custom trailer the axles you referenced, part # ASR2KHDS01 as another great choice and a little less expensive. These axles have a weight capacity of 2,000 lbs, have a straight spindle and can be bolted or welded to the trailer frame. These axles have the E-Z Lube fitting that makes it much easier to keep the bearing lubed.
Another idler hub I recommend that would be a good fit for these axles is the Dexter Trailer Hub Assembly, part # 84545UC1-EZ. This hub assembly works well with axles that have the E-Z Lube fitting. This hub includes the bearings, races, seal, grease cap, wheel bolts and lug nuts.
I have attached a link to the product page for the tire/wheel combos we offer that would fit the hubs I mentioned.
