7-Way Recommendation for a 2001 Dodge Dakota
Question:
2001 Dodge Dakota w/no existing tow package. Can I add 7 pole wiring? I see the hitches you have. The wiring said hook up to existing factory plugs. I want to buy wiring and hitch. Thanks much! I have a popup camper I want to wire for.

To install a 7-way on your 2001 Dodge Dakota that doesn't have trailer wiring currently you will first need to start with a 4-way like part # 118329 and then use a # 37185 to convert it to a 7-way.
If you do have trailer brakes you would need the # ETBC7 instead of the # 37185 and a brake controller. This kit comes with everything needed to wire up the 7-way and install a brake controller.
For a brake controller I would recommend the Prodigy P2 Brake Controller part # 90885. This is our best selling brake controller because of how well it works and how easy it is to setup.
For a hitch the Curt part # C13280 would work great.
