Does Bigger Trailer Mean Faster Speed

Question:

Is there a 12inch trailer tire that can run at 70 MPH?

Helpful Expert Reply:

Trailer tires are only rated to go 65 miles per hour unless indicated. Trailer tires are built with a thicker sidewall, to handle vertical loads, that get hot enough to fail when you exceed 65 miles per hour.

Your specs for this time say M, 81 mph. Your video review says it has not speed rating, so 65 mph. Which is it?

@SeanW Thanks for reaching out about this! The speed rating used to be 65 mph for the Kenda Karrier ST145/R12 Radial Trailer Tire with 12" Black Mod Wheel # AM35354, but Kenda revised that to 81 mph not too long ago. I've sent in an update to have the speed rating adjusted accordingly - thanks for bringing this to our attention!
