Roadmaster Even Brake Portable Proportional Braking System Displays Red LED Light Only
Question:
When I hook up the unit and push test, its supposed to cycle through two or three cycles before giving a system ready alert. But when I push the test mode now it doesnt even do the first cycle and gives me a red malfunction light on the panel. Ive tried reseting it but it continues to fail. Vehicle is 2006 Saturn Vue, and I have an auxiliary power source and battery power is not the issue.

There are a couple thing you can do to get your system up and running. Per the instructions you need to plug the Even Brake unit into the transmitter in the towed vehicle before plugging in the monitor in the towing vehicle.
The Even Brake 12-volt power cord is always last in and first out. Never plug in the power cord
until Even Brake is completely installed. You then plug in the monitor in the motorhome. The LCD should display "Even Brake ready to test", with a yellow LED illuminated. This lets you know the monitor is receiving the signal.
If you are receiving a red LED and the message "Even Brake" is displayed on the screen it means the monitor is not receiving a clear signal from the transmitter. You can do a couple things here. One is to relocate the monitor in the motorhome to see if it improves and another it to relocate the transmitter in the towed vehicle.
