Recommended Hitch Extender to Improve Turning Radius when Flat Towing

Question:

I have a 2004 Beaver Marquis diesel pusher MH. I will be flat towing a 2006 Tahoe Z71. Will a hitch extender help with the turning radius or is it simply used to gain space between the MH and tow bar? What length extension would work best to help with the turning radius?

Hitch extenders, like the Roadmaster Trailer Hitch Receiver Extension, # RM-071-75, which you referenced are designed for when you have problems clearing your vehicle's bumper or spare tire when you flat tow. For example if you hear your hitch accessories hit your car, you need a hitch extender.

Yes, a hitch extender will help with the turning radius, so the longer the extension the more help you will get. However, your first consideration when choosing an extender should be choosing one that gives you the required clearance and hopefully this will also improve your turning radius.

I have included a helpful link to all our hitch extenders.
