Recommended Roof Rack, Roof Basket, And Kayak Carrier For 2011 Honda Insight With Naked Roof

Question:

Hello, I would like some advice on which roof rack would be best for my car. I have a 2011 Honda Insight, with a naked roof. I am looking to have a rack that can carry luggage, Kayaks, things of that nature. Would you be able to assist me in picking out one right for my car? Thank you,

The roof rack I recommend for your 2011 Honda Insight is the Rhino-Rack ROC25 Roof Rack for Naked Roofs # RR34GR. This is a sleek aero design crossbar for the factory look and less wind noise than other options. It is a custom fit for your Insight.

For the Yakima roof rack to carry luggage I recommend a roof basket like the Yakima LoadWarrior Roof Rack Cargo Basket, part # Y07070. This basket weighs just 25 lbs and the inside dimensions are 38-1/2 inches long x 38-1/2 inches.

The kayak carrier I recommend is the Yakima JayLow Carrier, part # Y04073. This simply clamps to the roof rack crossbars and includes 4 tie-downs. These fold down when not in use for a more streamlined look.

I have attached a couple links to product review videos for the items I mentioned. I also attached a link to the product page for the roof racks we offer that are designed to fit your Insight.

We do offer several products that will fit roof racks, but the fit for those depend on the type roof rack you decide to install. If you decide on another roof rack, let me know and I can make some recommendations that will work for you.

You will want to check your owner's manual or with your dealership and make sure you do not exceed the roof weight capacity of your Insight.
