According to the owner's manual for your 2015 Ram 3500, the Integrated Trailer Brake Module (ITBM), has been designed and verified to work with electric trailer brakes and new electric over hydraulic systems. Some previous electric over hydraulic systems may not be compatible
with your integrated controller.
In order to control the electric over hydraulic trailer brakes on your trailer, you may need to disconnect the ITBM and install an aftermarket brake controller like our Tekonsha Prodigy P3, # 90195, with Plug-In Wiring Adapter, # 3024-P. Super easy installation, just mount the controller, plug one end of the adapter into the P3, and the other into the port under the dash and you are ready to go.
Please keep in mind that disconnecting the ITBM will activate a warning lamp on the instrument cluster. In order to get the warning lamp to turn off you will have to make a trip to your local Dodge dealer to have the Totally Integrated Power Module (TIPM ) reconfigured.
