How to Determine the Towing Capacity of a Vehicle

it is an LS and did not come with factory installed tow package, but does have an aftermarket hitch installed.

To determine the towing capacity of your 2006 Chevy Uplander you will need to consider the capacities of every thing in your towing setup and go with the lowest rated component as the overall capacity since a setup is only as strong as it's weakest component. So if the owners manual of your vehicle has a lower capacity than the hitch you installed like the # 13344 which has a 4,000 lb trailer and 400 lb tongue weight capacity then the lower figure would be the overall capacity.

According to owner's manual, vehicle can tow 3500 if equipped with V92 Trailering Package, otherwise limited to 2000 lbs.
