How to Install Derale Tube-Fin Engine Oil Cooler # D15501 in 2001 Jeep Cherokee

Question:

Will this kit work on my 2001 jeep Cherokee 4.0 6 cylinder, if so, how does the sandwich oil filter lines attach to the present spin on oil filter housing? Thanks.

Coolers like the Derale Tube-Fin Engine Oil Cooler # D15501 are not vehicle-specific so you can install as large an oil cooler as you have room to mount it. This unit measures 12-3/4 wide x 7-5/8 tall x 3/4 deep and ideally mounts in front of your AC condenser for maximum air flow and cooling.

This kit includes a sandwich adapter that mounts in place of your existing oil filter and that provides a range of threaded inserts, one of which will match your filter size. Your filter will then mount on that threaded insert on the sandwich adapter. The two included brass fittings then install in the sandwich adapter to provide inlet and outlet ports from and to the cooler itself. The kit includes everything needed.
