Best Most Economical Option for Hauling 2 or 3 Bikes w/ 2014 Chevrolet Traverse Going Cross Country
Question:
We have a 2014 Chevy Traverse LTZ, no hitch no factory installed crossbars. We would like to get a bike rack for 2-3 bikes. We will be traveling across country with these and will need in the back area a few times during the trip, so convenience to get in there would be a bonus. Best as well as economical comparison bike racks?? Thanks for your help!

A hitch mounted bike rack is definitely the way to go. This method of transporting your bikes keeps the bikes behind the vehicle making them the most aerodynamic and loading will be so much easier.
First we will need to start with a hitch for your 2014 Chevrolet Traverse. For this I recommend the Draw-Tite Trailer Hitch Receiver, # 75528. This is our most economical option but it still offers the same quality and capacities as the others. I have included an installation video for you.
Now for the bike rack. My favorite is the Thule Apex Swing 4 Bike Rack, # TH9027XT. It's a great bike rack that will allow you to access the cargo area of your Traverse even with the bikes loaded. I have included a video on it.
If you plan on carrying women's, children's or alternative framed bikes, I recommend an adapter bar like the Swagman Easy-Out, # 64005. This bar attaches between the seat post and the handlebar stem and allows the bike to be carried more evenly in the carrier while providing more ground clearance.
