How to Wire a License Plate Bracket with a Light on a Dune Buggy
Question:
I have a dune buggy and I need to connect a lighted license plate frame in rear. I have existing tail lights that are inside of a metal tubular end, looks like a plug stop. They are running lights, not brake lights. Brake lights are on top. I just want to know how should I wire up this lighted license plate. Tap into running light? Or do I run wire to the dash were the switches are?? I want to run it neatly, clean. I can send photos of rear or any part of thi buggy if needed.

License plate lights are typically wired to the running light circuit. You should have no problem wiring your plate light in with your existing tail lights. I recommend using solder, # FL0803484, and a soldering iron for these connections, but a quick splice, # SWC502905-1, will work if you do not have access to a soldering iron. A circuit tester, # 3808, will be needed to locate the running light circuit on the dune buggy. Typically it is easiest to find this circuit at the rear of the tail lights.
We have three lighted license plate brackets, one of them even uses LED lights. The LED bracket is part # LPL55CB. The others use standard incandescent bulbs and they are part # PM436B, that you referenced, and part # LP55CB.
