Recommended Hitch-Mount 4-Bike Carrier for 2010 Honda Odyssey

Question:

My husband and I need to mount 2 cannondale quicks and 2 kids bikes on our 2010 Honda Odyssey. Were having a 2inch receiver hitch installed and now need to an appropriate bike rack. The cannondale bikes are both male/unisex frames. Ideally wed like a rack that will grow with our children as they continue to migrate to larger framed bikes. Thanks in advance for your time.

A 2-inch Class III hitch like Draw-Tite # 75270 is indeed the best way to transport 4 bikes on your 2010 Honda Odyssey. Installation of this hitch is shown in the linked video, for your reference. Hitch-mount racks put the entire weight load of the rack and bikes onto the car's frame - its strongest part - and a hitch also allows use of other accessory items like a cargo basket such as # C18151 from Curt.

Once you have your hitch installed, you'll want to take one simple measurement. This is the distance from the hitch pin hole to the rear-most part of the car. When we installed the above hitch on a 2010 Odyssey we found that there was 7-inches from the hitch pin hole to the rear of the bumper. (Please refer to the 2:25 mark in the video).

The Pro Series carrier # 63124 that you referenced provides 8-inches of clearance so it should fit fine on your hitch too, but you can measure to make certain. The linked article illustrates. I also linked all 2-inch 4-bike hitch carriers.

Some kids bikes that lack a top frame tube are easier to load on a carrier if used with a bike adapter bar such as the Bike Adapter Bar # UB01. These install between the seat and handlebar posts to provide a level mounting surface to mate with the carrier.
