Trailer Wiring Harness for 2012 Ford Escape
Question:
I am working with a 2012 Ford Escape. This vehicle has a factory wiring harness plug, however this model has the 10 wire rectangular plug rather than the round 4 wire plug 118251 Do you have a product to fit this different configuration? I believe this configuration is on models with parking assist Thanks

Expert Reply:
The 10 pin connector you mentioned isn't involved with the trailer wiring functions, according to my sources at Tow Ready/Tekonsha.
If you do not have the 4 pin connector located behind the bumper fascia on the left side of the vehicle (see video), then you'll need to use the # 118551 wiring harness, which works on vehicles regardless of whether it has the tow package. If you click the provided link, you can see a video showing this harness being installed on a 2012 Ford Escape.
