Parts Needed to Convert a 4-Way to a 7-Way and Install Brake Controller in a 2002 Ford Escape
Question:
I just bought an older model camper. It is wired with a 7-pole connector. My 2002 Ford Escape is only wired for a 4 pole adaptor. The camper has electric brakes. CAN I wire my escape and use this, or is it not possible to connect the brakes on the camper to the brakes on my escape??

We have exactly what you would need to convert your 4-way to a 7-way so that you can install a brake controller and activate the brakes on your trailer.
What you will need is the part # ETBC7. This comes with everything needed to convert the 4-way to a 7-way and install a brake controller. The # 37185 that you referenced comes with just the adapter 7-way, but it does not come with the wiring and breakers to complete the install.
For a brake controller I would recommend the Prodigy P2 Brake Controller part # 90885. This is our best selling brake controller because of how well it works and how easy it is to setup.
