Adding 7-Way on 2008 Toyota Highlander

Hi, I am hoping maybe you can assist me with what I need to buy to tow a trailer on my 2008 Toyota Highlander. I have added an after market tow hitch receiver, but I have not yet added any wire harness. Im a little confused on what exactly I need to buy. It like from your site like its fairly easy to add a 4 pin connection for the lights, but the pop up camper I am planning to tow has a seven pin round connector. I would like to connect the electric brakes and charge the trailer battery as well. Im not sure what exactly I need to do this. Could you guys help out by suggesting what I would need? Is this something thats easy to install? Is there a kit for it?

To wire your 2008 Toyota Highlander with a 7-way and 4 pole connector, you'd first need a functional 4-pole trailer connector. Sounds like your Highlander doesn't already have one, so you can install one using part # 118449. With the 4-pole in place, you'll need a brake controller to activate the trailer brakes. I recommend the Tekonsha Prodigy P2, part # 90885. The P2 is very highly rated by our customers and is extremely easy to use. You'll also use our brake controller installation kit, part # ETBC7. The ETBC7 kit will provide the 7-pin socket to plug in the trailer connector.

I'll link you to installation instructions and some install videos you'll find helpful. The install video shows the # ETBC7 kit being used on a 2010 Highlander, so the video will pretty much walk you through the whole installation.
