Dimensions of Bracket Holes on Curt and B&W Class V Trailer Hitches

Question:

To Whom it my concern: I have 1993 Ford F250 4x4 that I am removing a service bed/body from and installing a standard factory f150-350 bed on. The current hitch is part of the service body and will be removed with the bed. I would like to replace it with a class 5 hitch and found you carry several styles. I am most interested in item C15300 by Curt or DWHDRH25122 by BandW. The problem that I am encountering is the passenger’s side frame rail has been damaged from cutting and welding of brackets to mount the bed. Around ½ to ¾ inch of the vertical part of the frame is missing from the end of the fame rail. I read the install instruction and would like to know what the dimensions are from the rivet to be back of the back bolt hole and from the rivet to the front hole? From the pictures the BandW hitch looks like the first hole and last hole are a lot further apart than on the Curts unit, is this true? Thank you for your time to help me the right hitch for my application.

I went out to the warehouse and pulled Curt Class V Trailer Hitch # C15300 and took some measurements for you. From the front bolt hole to the rivet (center to center) is 1-5/16 inches. From the rivet to the rear bolt hole is 7-7/8 inches and the overall measurement is 9-3/16 inches. I have included a picture of the hitch showing these measurements for your reference.

I called my contact at B&W and she gave me the following measurements of their Class V Trailer Hitch # BWHDRH25122. From the rear bolt hole to the middle bolt hole is 11-3.8 inches. From the middle bolt hole to the front bolt hole is 5-15/16 inches. The overall measurement is right at 17 inches, so you are correct that the B&W hitches bolt holes are much farther apart than the Curt hitch.
