Do You Add Air to Firestone Air Bags Before Adding the Load or After

Question:

Hi, on the Firestone airbags for a 2008 Ford F-350 . Watched video , have question. When I load my weekend warrior 5 th wheel trailer into the hitch, my truck bed lowers about 4-5 inches. Do I fill bags prior to setting the trailer on the hitch or can I increase pressure with the weight loaded. Trailer is about 13k . Should I look to keek the truck the sme level unloaded as loaded? Thank you

When using Firestone air bag helper springs # F2550 you will first couple your 5th wheel trailer like normal. Then you would add air to level the back of the truck up to 100 psi, whichever comes first. If you want to add an onboard compressor system so you can add/remove air from the air bags from the comfort of the truck cab I recommend Level Command kit with heavy-duty compressor # F2097. I have included a couple of helpful links for you as well.

When leveling the truck you do want it to be as close to the unloaded ride height as you can get it within the capabilities of the system.
