Voltage Level On Tekonsha Voyager Brake Activator, # 39510, on 20,000 lb. Tandem Dual Axle Trailer
Question:
What voltage level would be normally measured at the trailer connection box, when brakes applied. I do not seem to have working trailer brakes. Is this controller model good for a tandem duals axle, 20,000 lb gross wt trailer. ?

On the Tekonsha #9030 Voyager Brake Activator, # 39510, it is a proportional (inertia activated) controller, so if the trailer is not moving and brakes applied it will show minimum voltage like 3 volts or less. The voltage at the box should be 12 volts or a little more when operating.
The Tekonsha Voyager controller will work fine with your tandem duals axle. It is designed for 2,4,6 and 8 brake trailers.
When the brake controller is connected to the trailer it should show a solid green light. If it doesn't show a solid green light then it means a wiring problem, usually loose power or ground.
I am sending a link to the installation instructions which has a troubleshooting guide that might help.
