Hitch Pin Holes Not Lining Up Using MaxxTow Hitch Extender and Draw-Tite Class III Trailer Hitch
Question:
I have a 2013 Honda Odyessy and purchased a Draw-Tite hitch from Etrailer last year. Several months ago I purchased the Maxx Tow dual twitch extender to help raise the basket I put on my trailer hitch. Both products were recommended by an associate from Etrailer. I recently tried to use the Maxx tow product but it doesnt fit the trailer hitch. It fits the hitch but the holes for the pin dont line up. The max tow hits my rear bumper before the holes line up. The Draw-Tite has a smaller hole that lines up but the pins wont fit. Can I get a thinner pin and use this second hole? Or is it just cosmetic? Help!!

I spoke with my contact at Draw-Tite and he said that on the Draw-Tite trailer hitch # 75270 you will want to use the 5/8 inch pin hole which is the one closest to the crosstube. The pin hole closest to the trailer, a 1/2 inch pin hole, is not used at all.
Based on my measurements you will need an extender that is at least 6-1/2 inches from the pin hole to the back of the receiver. Unfortunately we do not carry any extenders that length. Your best bet may be to go with a cargo carrier with an angled shank like the etrailer Cargo Carrier # e98874. The height from the platform to the top of trailer hitch receiver opening is 2 inches.
I have included installation instructions and some product demonstration videos for you to check out.
