Which Type of Flat Towing Lighting Set-Up to Use for 2011 GMC Terrain

Question:

I recently purchased a SMI Air Force One from you. I plan to use it on a 2011 GMC Terrain. Two questions: One, which would be better, the self contained brake light system or diode system? Two, Where is the vacuum assist line on the 2011 GMC Terrian? Thanks for your help

The easiest type of flat towing lighting kit is the magnetic type like the Optronics # TLL21RK. These take only moments to install and are easily removed and stored when you're not flat towing. They require no alterations to your vehicle.

A more permanent installation is a bulb-and-socket kit like # RM-155 from Roadmaster. This kit includes new wiring and separate bulbs that install inside the vehicle taillight assemblies. These remain electrically separate from the vehicle's internal wiring but do require you to drill holes in the taillight assemblies for the bulbs.

Diode kits like Roadmaster # RM-154 are a good choice if you flat tow very often and don't mind altering the vehicle's wiring. These kits are also more complex to install.

I did not find a purchase record for you for the SMI Air Force One Supplemental Braking System # SM99243 but the vacuum line can be found at the master cylinder.
