Space Between Jack Tube and Swivel Plate on Bulldog 2,000 Pound Swivel Jack
Question:
I have a trailer with smaller tongue but would like a swivel jack for extra ground clearance. Based on the dimensions this jack will work but the jack leg will need to have about 5/8 inch clearance to swivel up and miss my trailer coupler. How much gap does the mounting plate produce between the trailer tongue and the jack leg? Also can the jack leg swivel in either direction?

Helpful Expert Reply:
First, the jack can swivel in either direction so if possible you would swing it up so that the bottom of the jack points towards the back of the trailer.
I went out to the warehouse and pulled Bulldog trailer jack # BD151443 and the measurement from the plate where it swivels to the jack tube is 0.86 inches. This is in between 13/16 and 7/8 of an inch so greater than the 5/8 of an inch you need!
