2009 Chevy Silverado Brake Control Tow Package Wiring has Power All the Time on Light Blue Wire
Question:
My Blue/white wire from the brake light sw stays hot. If I connect the red wire to it it says there is a trailer connected all the time. I have replaced the Brake light sw no help? Do I have a BCM problem? 2009 Silverado, installing a P3..Thanks

Expert Reply:
Your 2009 Chevy Silverado has a tow package wire bundle under the dash, to the left of the steering column, held together with a white tag. The light blue wire that you mentioned is a possible wire to connect to the brake controller red wire. but it could also be an orange wire. Try testing the orange wire with a circuit tester such as # PTW2993.
If that does not help then it is possible that there is another problem, could be a BCM, but you would have to have a Chevy dealer look at that for you.
