Rooftop Cargo Basket for Use on 2014 Nissan Murano with Factory Roof Crossbars
Question:
I have a 2014 Nissan Murano with factory installed crossbars. The crossbars are 30 inches apart on center. I looking at the Curt basket #C18115. The problem is that according to the description, it will only work with crossbars spaced 15, 22 or 29 inches apart on center and as mentioned, my crossbars are 30 inches apart. Do you think it would work on the 30inch anyway? If not, what do you recommend. Thanks.

You're correct that the Curt rooftop cargo basket # C18115 requires specific crossbar spacing for installation. This basket will not be an ideal fit on your Murano but we can definitely find one for you!
We offer the Thule # TH859XT that will work with a 20-inch - 37-inch crossbar spread and we also have baskets like the Rhino-Rack # RMCB that work within a wide range of bar spreads, from 21- to 30-inches. This makes this basket a great choice if you need the flexibility to use it on another vehicle. For a larger basket, the Thule # TH859XT has a 20" extensionin part # TH8591XT.
You might want to add a cargo net like the Curt # C18201 to help secure your items and a tire step for better rooftop access, such as # HE4040.
