Location of Fifth Wheel Rails in the Bed of a 2001 Ford F-250 Shortbed
Question:
I purchased a universal rail kit but it did not come with any instructions. The installation video on etrailer.com does not give the measurement from the end of the bed to the first rail. I cannot find the measurement in all my research. Can you help me with the correct beginning measurement?

I attached a set of installation instructions for the Reese Universal Rail kit part # RP30035 and in them on page 10 it states that for your 2001 Ford F250 short bed the rear rail will need to be installed 29-1/4 inches from the rear edge of the truck bed. This measurement will be from the rear edge of the truck to the rear edge of the rail.
