Recommended 3 Bike Rack for 2010 Nissan Rogue Compatible with Jett Specialized Bike
Question:
Hi, I have a Nissan Rogue 2010 and am looking for a bike rack that goes on the back as we dont have a hitch and I dont want a roof rack. We have two adult mountain bikes and a child, who will one day have a bike to put on there! My bike has been tricky to put on racks in the past. It is a specialized Jett. The frame is a funny shape, and was hard to put on my friends Yakima rack. Just wondering which rack you would suggest? I like the look of the Thule because it has locking capabilities. Would appreciate your help. Thanks

I checked out the Jett Specialized bike online, pretty cool looking!
If you'd use a frame adapter bar like the Swagman # 64005, you should have no trouble carrying the bike on just about any bike rack. The adapter bar spans the distance between the handlebar gooseneck and the seat post, providing a more level attachment point to the bike rack. This would allow the bike to be carried so its more level, which would provide more ground clearance.
The Thule OutWay 3-bike rack # TH56BV you mentioned would make an excellent choice, UNLESS you Rogue has the spoiler on top of the rear hatch. The upper mounting straps would need to be placed over the spoiler, which isn't designed to support the weight of the bikes and the rack. Result-broken spoiler.
Hollywood Racks offers the Over-the-Top rack, part # HRF2-3 that has an extra support, so all the weight of the rack and bikes isn't suspended from the spoiler. If your Rogue has the spoiler, this rack is what I'd recommend. I've linked you to a video showing this rack on a 2013 Rogue. The rack doesn't include locks, but you could help secure the rack to the vehicle using a security strap like part # TH533. A cable lock like # e98891 could be used to secure the bikes to the rack.
If you click the provided links, you can see videos featuring the frame adapter bar and bike racks I recommended.
