Brake Controller Recommendation for a 2014 GMC Sierra 1500

Yes I have a 2014 GMC Sierra I have a 7 way plug with electric brakes is it necessary to put a brake control on my truck to pull a travel trailer with trailer brakes.

Yes, to activate the brakes of your trailer you will need to install a brake controller in your 2014 GMC Sierra 1500 unless it came with a factory brake controller.

For a brake controller I would recommend the Prodigy P2 Brake Controller part # 90885. This is our best selling brake controller because of how well it works and how easy it is to setup.

To install this controller all you need is the proper install harness. For that you would want the part # 3016. I attached an install video for you to check out as well.
